Sinus Pressure Ingredient

The following natural ingredients are used in the Sinus Pressure remedy. We have added higher potencies of Aurum Metallicum, Lachesis Mutus, and Silicea which promotes drainage and dissolution of the mucus.

The ingredients are made into a liquid form using the homeopathic technique and are sprayed on to lactose (sugar of milk) tablets.

Lactose tablets have no known side effects.

Aurum Metallicum

Aurum Metallicum also known as Aurum Foliatum is the metal Gold. Gold (gold leaves/Gold Foliatum) is prepared into a homeopathic substance by trituration in sugar of milk. Higher potencies are prepared in alcohol. It was first used as a homeopathic remedy in 1818 by Dr Hahnemann, the father of Homeopathy. It was used by other physicians prior to that.

These patients may be sensitive to various smells which aggravate the sinuses. Discharge is thick like white of an egg. There is burning and itching of the nose. There may be affection of the nasal bones with ulceration of the mucous membranes. There is shooting pain in the sinuses. The nose and the bones forming the sinuses are painful to touch. The bones below the eyes are especially very painful. There may be a purulent discharge or a putrid smell in the nose.

Euphrasia Officinalis

Euphrasia Officinalis is also known as Eyebright. It belongs to the Natural Order of Scrophulariacea. It grows freely all over Europe. The mother tincture is prepared from the whole plant except the roots whilst the plant is flowering. It has been used as a homeopathic substance for over 150 years.

The nose has profuse, bland, fluent coryza with scalding tears and aversion to light; worse in the evening and at night

There is copious acrid lachrymation, with streaming, bland discharge from nose (rev. of Allium cepa, which has acrid discharge from nose, but bland from eyes).

Graphites

Graphites is also known as Black lead or Plumbago. It is amorphous carbon. Triturations are prepared using a high quality drawing pencil lead. Higher potencies are made in alcohol. It was first manufactured by the founder of homeopathy almost 200 years ago.

The nose is sore on blowing and the pain feels deep within the sinuses and nose. There may be scabs a crusting of the mucous membrane. Graphites is useful in chronic dryness alternating with discharge of fetid mucus. Often there is a stuffed coryza leading to headaches.

Kalium Iodatum

It is known chemically as Kalium Iodatum, Potassium Iodide, and Kalium Hydriodicum and has a chemical formula KI. It is a chemical salt of Potassium and Iodine. Triturations up to 3CH are made with sugar of milk and higher potencies are then made in alcohol. Homeopathic preparation renders this chemical substance safe to use as a medicine and homeopaths have used this for over a hundred years.

The tip of the nose is often very red and the nose often feels or looks swollen. There is a profuse discharge of mucus that is thin and watery and feels acrid and hot. There may be sore or ulcers in the linings of the nasal mucosa. There is sneezing and mucus lodged in the frontal sinus. There may also be stuffiness or dryness of the nose without any discharge. The discharge is often green and irritates the nasal linings.

There may be violent headaches with sinusitis and pain is felt in the face, the frontal sinuses and temples. Often the pain is intense over the eyes and root of nose. There may even be sharp pains in the upper jaw.

Colds come on from exposure to damp and cold. The nose becomes red and swollen with an acrid watery discharge. This is followed by a catarrhal headache because of swelling of the mucous membranes of frontal sinuses, maxillary sinuses and may extend to throat, eyes, ears and chest. The forehead feels heavy and dull.

Kalium Bichromicum

This remedy is made from a chemical compound of Potassium and Chromic acid. It is also known as Potassium Bichromate with a chemical formula K2Cr2O7. The homeopathic remedy is prepared with 1 part Potassium Bichromate mixed with 99 parts sugar of milk. This is then triturated up to 3CH from which liquid potencies are prepared in alcohol. Homeopathic preparation of this substance makes it exceptionally safe for patients of all ages to use.

The eyes and nose tend to burn after exposure to cold. There is frequent and violent sneezing, sniffing and even stoppage of the nostrils. The discharge can be watery, corrosive, thick and stringy, contain pus, can turn into scabs or plugs, sometimes it may be offensive and could contain blood with the discharge. There may be a nose bleed especially after a bath or when eating.

There can be sensations of crawling, dryness, stiffness, twitching, being swollen, heaviness, tickling with the nostrils and sinuses. Presence of pain or pressure in the root of the nose or in the sinus bones themselves. Kalium Bichromicum is excellent to treat sinusitis that is aggravated from drinking beer.

There can be ulceration of the septum or inflammation of the entire nasal mucus membranes. There may be tough ropy discharges (often it is greenish yellow) which can also be found in the posterior nares commonly referred to as post nasal drip.

It is effective to use in cases of chronic inflammation of the frontal sinuses with a stopped-up sensation

This is one of the most effective and commonly prescribed remedy for sinusitis. In fact many a medical skeptic about homeopathy has come to believe in homeopathy because of Kalium Bichromicum efficacy in treating sinusitis.

Lachesis Mutus

Lachesis mutus is also known as the Surukuku Snake poison and Trignocephalus Lachesis. The poison was obtained from the South American snake Lachesis Mutus belonging to the Natural Order Ophidia. Triturations are prepared using a drop of the snake venom and sugar of milk. Homeopathic dilution and preparation renders it absolutely non-toxic and is safe to use even in infants. It was first used and described by Dr. C. Hering in 1828.

Excellent remedy for hay asthma where there is paroxysms of sneezing. 

Get nose bleeds when blows nose. There is fluent nasal discharge in the evenings with stuffed and obstructed nasal passages early in the morning. Lachesis Mutus treats inflammation of the margins of the nostrils and watery acrid nasal discharge. There is pain at the root of the nose and nasal bones. Headache which improves after flow of the sinuses.

Teucrium Marum

It is also known as Cat-Thyme. The whole plant is used to prepare the mother tincture from which higher potencies are made.

It can be used to treat catarrh of both anterior and posterior nostrils. Teucrum Marum treats chronic catarrh with discharge of large irregular clinkers. Often the person experiences a sensation of crawling in nostrils, with tearing of eyes and sneezing. Foul breath. It treats the mucous membranes and decreases the swelling that causes nasal polyps. It treats nasal polyps.

Silicea

Silicea is also known as Silica, Silicic Oxide, Pure Flint or Quartz. Its chemical formula is SiO2. Pure silica is triturated in sugar of milk to the 3 rd potency and is then made in alcohol. It was first used by Hahnemann in 1828.

Dry, hard crusts form, bleeding when loosened. The nasal bones are sensitive.

Silicea treats sneezing in the mornings. Nose obstructed with loss of smell. Useful for chronic sinusitis and rhinitis.
